TNT’s show ‘Animal Kingdom’ is based off the 2010 film of the same name. The show follows a 17-year-old boy named Josh Cody (Finn Cole) who has to move in with his relatives after his mom dies from a heroin overdose. Josh moves in with the Codys, a criminal family run by Smurf (Ellen Barkin). The series began last summer and has been picked up for a second season.

Deleted scenes are a way of life when it comes to TV and film. So much gets shot and often times scenes get left on the cutting room floor, but most of the time we don’t know why. That’s not the case in the above clip from TNT’s ‘Animal Kingdom’ Creator and Executive Producer Jonathan Lisco tells us about a scene that got cut out and not only why he loved the clip, but why the show decided to keep it off.

If you missed this season but want to catch up, don’t worry. Animal Kingdom: The Complete First Season is available on Blu-ray and DVD on April 25, 2017.
